Alberto Caputo will be showing a wide range of media in this third of Way Out’s exhibitions for 2014. “VISCERAL” explores the relationship between the self and the other. The show includes painting and sculpture and features the artist’s trademark handmade wooden frames and objects.

The weather was perfect for gathering to check out Ben Godward’s large-scale and insanely colorful sculpture and understated but masterful paintings. It takes looking and experiencing this work for a while to recognize all the amazing hidden moments. In fact, the more you look, the more you’ll find.

Ben Godward, a Brooklyn sculptor and favorite of the Bushwick Open Studios, will be showing his outrageously bright foam and resin sculptures at the Way Out Gallery in Rensselaerville during the month of July.

Opening July 5th, with a reception 4-6pm, Godward’s show will feature his characteristic combination of cultural residue (found objects, packing material, consumer products) and cast, poured and dripped neon-colored plastic.

Joe’s work is not entirely about the object being represented. The object is but a structural element for exploration and engagement. The painting itself is the object Joe is interested in and he chooses organic objects that have an interesting shape or human like character. Joe has drawn and painted many wasp nests over the years because they each have a uniqueness to them as well as shared structural properties much like a human portrait.
